Continuing the Voyage!

My  unit has been very busy undergoing more training to prepare of for our time overseas. Morale is good and practical jokes abound. One must be careful not to leave your boots out or you may find yourself with each boot a different size as you hurry to get dressed in the dark of the early morning!
We have been issued more gear and we are all wondering how we are going to add the extra items into our already over-packed required two duffle bag limit.  The advice from above is to pack for 5 days and send everyting else home.  Space is very limited where we are going so it is time for everyone to leave the American attitude of "everything in excess" behind.
The weather has been cold, and we have had snow, with more predicted next week. Our barracks, all be it from the WWII era, are clean and warm so we get a nice repsite from the weather when we finally get "home."
The best news of all is that we may get a 4 day pass before we depart so everyone is planning to make a few day-trips into the Seattle area for some R&R.  My little group will rent a car in search for some good food and a coffee house! Pike Place is also on our list as is the Space Needle. A thread of excitment runs through our numerous, daily formations as we compare notes and share ideas to get the most out of our upcoming time away from the base.
I send my best wishes of good health to all and will keep you updated as time permits and I thank everyone for the support and emails!
