Road to Kabul - Convoy

I tried to snap a few quick jpgs as my convoy was rolling through the outskirts of Kabul.  We were going 80mph to reduce our risk of being a target. Convoys are shot at quite often along this route. Thankfully, nothing so far that can penetrate an uparmored vehicle.

These are actual homes and businesses, set up in bombed clay ruins.

One of the newest business that I have seen in this area. Perhaps it is far enough out of Kabul proper that the taliban has yet to see fit to destroy it.......although there did not seem to much in the way of inventory or customers.

Kids will find a place to play - - - anywhere. It is amazing to see life go on while surrounded with ruin.
